President Donald Trump will not let his 2020 loss to former President Joe Biden go.
Six years ago, when it appeared that he might lose to former President Biden, he began lying by saying that the only way that his Democratic opponent could beat him was to cheat.
All of these years later, most Americans have moved on if they have any common sense.
But President Trump is still so upset about being a loser in 2020 that he addressed the nation on Thursday night, claiming that China could hack voting booths during the 2026 midterms.
Therefore, his so-called SAVE America needs to pass to ensure election integrity.
Michelle L. Price, Eric Tucker and Collin Binkley of the Associated Press reported, “President Donald Trump used a primetime address to the nation to elevate his yearslong push to raise doubts about the legitimacy of U.S. elections and dispute his 2020 loss in an appeal for more restrictive voting laws ahead of the midterms.
“Trump’s amplification of debunked theories about the election six years ago and his inability to accept his loss led to one of the darker moments in American history when a mob of his supporters led a violent attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, in the final days of his first term.
“Now back in power, Trump opted to revisit the subject, despite persistent voter concerns about the cost of living, U.S. forces escalating strikes on Iran in a conflict for which there is no end in sight, and an immigration crackdown facing bipartisan scrutiny for its sometimes deadly tactics.
“His address Thursday hinged on contradictions.”
The SAVE America would require identification and proof of citizenship, like a passport) to cast a ballot.
The proposed legislation would also place extreme limits on mail-in ballots.
As many pundits on social media and mainstream media have said, the SAVE America Act would not address the issues that Trump says put American elections in danger.
For example, restricting mail-in ballots would not stop the Chinese government from hacking into voting booths.
In fact, if China could hack into the voting systems, mail-in ballots would actually make elections safer because technology could not impact the will of the people.
The only people who could impact mail-in-ballots would be postal workers, who could throw away ballots just to be evil.
But why would postal workers throw away random ballots when those ballots might be for the candidates and the issues that they support?
But whatever happens, Trump has diminished American democracy for the past 10 years with his lies about voter fraud.
His definition of voter fraud is anyone who votes for his opponent.
But somehow him asking Georgia representatives to find him over 11,000 votes is not fraud.
Somehow, his sending his thugs to storm the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, to attempt to steal the election from Biden was not fraud.
But despite his infatuation with nonexistent voter fraud, watch how fast the SAVE America Act loses importance to him after the midterm elections conclude.
The bill will not pass, regardless.
So once it can no longer help the Republican Party retain power going into 2027, Trump will no longer care about election integrity and so-called voter fraud.
You will not hear him talking about illegal immigrants voting because he will no longer care about the Republican Party or the country, if he ever cared about them.
He will no longer care about dead people allegedly voting, because living voters will not even be able to do anything for him.
The proof I have for my hypothesis is his past behavior.
During the 2024 presidential election, Trump talked incessantly about affordability, the Epstein files, stopping future wars and tariffs.
Two years later, the only thing he cares about still is tariffs.
He called the affordability conversation a made-up issue, more specifically a “hoax,” a “con job” or “fake word” created by the Democrats.
Trump said that calls to release the Epstein files were also a Democratic hoax once it was known that his name was in the files more than Jesus Christ’s name is in the Bible.
The 45th and 47th President of the United States reneged on his promise of no new wars after Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu coerced him into attacking Iran, something he could not convince other, smarter presidents to do.
Therefore, history shows sane Americans that Trump will renege on anything he says once it has no value to him.
Furthermore, issues that he cares about today will become useless once he does not benefit from them.
He infamously told many of his supporters, sweltering in the heat of one of his 2024 presidential rallies, that he does not care about them; he just wants their vote.
Trump only pretends to care about the needs of the American people.
That is why affordability and inflation were such big issues for him on the 20204 presidential trail.
But once his charade got him elected, he stopped caring about Americans struggling to make ends meet.
Likewise, once the 2026 midterms are over, he will not care at all about the legitimacy of elections.
If it seems that Trump is adamant about the issue of voter fraud, it is because he is scared of accountability.
His voters and his political party have refused to hold him accountable for any nefarious thing he has done over the past 10 years, including attempting to overthrow American democracy.
And this is just his last-ditch effort to skate from consequences that would have put another American in prison a long time ago.
His power and wealth have kept him out of trouble for years, and he refuses ot let it go even if it means stealing the midterm elections from the American people.
We cannot let it happen!
