Win Free Passes to Advance Screening of ‘Roots’ Reboot

Long before Ancestry.com encouraged people to climb their family tree, author Alex Haley accomplished that mission with his book “Roots,” based on his family history.

The film adaptation of “Roots” starring LeVar Burton and John Amos, as Kunta Kinte, popularized the successful television miniseries format in 1977.

And with Hollywood’s recent interest in slave narratives, the timing is perfect for A&E and the History Channel to expose the next generation to “Roots.”

RegalMag.com will sponsor a free advance screening of the first installment of “Roots” on Tuesday, April 26 at 6 p.m. at the Granville M. Sawyer Auditorium on the beautiful campus of Texas Southern University located at 3100 Cleburne in Houston.

After the show, a special Q&A session will take place with journalist Jeff Johnson.
