Faith, Football and Family

Proverbs 22:6 states, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

It is doubtful that King Solomon meant football when he wrote about childrearing in the aforementioned verse, but in Texas football is religion and it is faithfully taught to many children from birth.

That “ministry” is on full display on the second season of Esquire Network’s “Friday Night Tykes,” which chronicles the real-life world of peewee football in the Lone Star State.

RegalMag.com is offering its Houston readers an opportunity to get an advance glimpse of the second season premiere of “Friday Night Tykes” Jan. 15 at The Alamo Drafthouse in Vintage Park at 7 PM.

Following the screening will be a Q&A session with Jerome Solomon of the Houston Chronicle, Patrick Creighton of SportsRadio 610, Matt Musil of KHOU-TV and Alex Haq, a coach for the Bay Area Football League.  To redeem your free tickets visit http://www.gofobo.com//RM100, using the promo code RM100.
