What it do?

“The People’s Champ,” rapper Paul Wall, is now the champion of alcoholic drink partnerships thanks to a collaboration with Paul Masson Brandy.

The rap legend from Houston, also known affectionately as “The Po Up Poet,” recently announced his efforts with Paul Masson, and on March 7 he kicked off the collaboration with a launch party at the House of Blues in his hometown, which will include a sweepstakes for his fans.

Jess Scheerhorn, a diehard Paul (Wall and Masson) fan and brand director at Sazerac, said, “We’re thrilled to be inviting consumers to Party with Paul for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Smooth, flavorful and affordable, we like to think of Paul Masson Brandy as the ‘Party’s Champ,’ and that connection made a partnership with the ‘People’s Champ’ even more of a no brainer for us. Whether enjoying Paul Masson over ice in a glass, neat, or mixed in a cocktail, there is no wrong way to Party with Paul.”

According to the press release, “As part of the Paul Wall sweepstakes, which went live on March 9th, 2023, Paul Wall is offering one lucky fan and their closest friends the chance to win a private party in their hometown where Paul Wall will perform his biggest hits, stock the bar with his favorite Paul Masson flavors, and present the winner with a custom set of grillz created by Johnny Dang & Co.”

The Swisha House alum will also use his broad fanbase on social media to promote Party with Paul.

He enjoys a following of over one million social media fans.

Wall said, “For years Paul Masson Brandy has been my go-to spirit when I want to kick back with friends and family, so it’s no coincidence [we launched] this right before my birthday on March 11—I really DO party with Paul Masson on the regular! There’s nothing better than connecting with fans, performing music and just generally having a good time, and I can’t wait to bring the party to someone’s hometown later this year.”

Fans, of course those over age 21, can visit PartywithPaulMasson.com until March 31 to enter for a chance to Party with Paul with their friends in their hometown.

According to the press release, “The Party with Paul campaign arrives as Paul Masson Brandy also releases its new Coconut, Chocolate, Fruit Punch, Grape, Vanilla, and Watermelon flavors, available in stores now. Additionally, consumers still have access to the classic VS and VSOP flavors, as well as Paul Masson’s top-selling flavors including Peach and Apple.”

Scheerhorn added, “Our consumers desired something fresh and we’re not a brand to shy away from a challenge. Our full range of innovative flavor offerings guarantee there’s something everyone at your party is sure to love.”

The former University of Houston student got his start as a rapper by appearing on some highly successful Swish House mixtapes.

Paul Wall then began a rap partnership with his childhood friend and classmate Chamillionaire via Paid in Full Entertainment.

He then returned to Swisha House as a solo artist, dropping such classic singles as “Sittin’ Sidewayz” featuring Big Pokey of the legendary Screwed Up Click (SUC), “Break “Em Off” featuring Lil Keke (also from the original SUC) and “Bizzy Body” featuring Baton Rouge, La. native, Webbie.

The Jersey Village High School graduate’s first national studio album as a solo star went platinum, representing one million albums sold.

In addition to Big Pokey, his first national album “The People’s Champ” featured guests like Three Six Mafia, B.G., Freeway, Trey Songz, T.I. and Port Arthur, Texas native Bun B.

His sophomore effort entitled “Get Money Stay True” featured R&B great Jon B., Juelz Santana, Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Trina and his wife, Crys Wall.

The Houstonian has also been featured on hit songs by legendary artists like Nelly, Kanye West, Juvenile, Jim Jones, DJ Khaled and Travis Barker.

Despite his international fanbase, Wall never has forgotten his love for his hometown and Houston’s love for him.

Via his jewelry venture with Dang, Wall has gifted the 2017 and 2022 Houston Astros World Series champions with their own personal grillz.

For those not in the know, grillz are custom-made jewelry that cover a person’s teeth.

The legend also gives back to the less fortunate.

According to the press release, “Paul Wall was coined ‘The People’s Champ’ for his constant work with underprivileged communities in Texas. After Hurricane Harvey, Wall and his wife Crystal opened the doors of Crystal’s fitness studio to gather supplies and donations for people affected. Each summer, Wall hosts a Back2School backpack drive to help encourage enthusiasm for going back to school.”

And befitting a champion of the people, his Paul Masson launch party featured some of the biggest champs in Houston’s celebrity scene like rappers Slim Thug and Lil Keke, radio personality J. Mac and national talk show host Isiah Carey from Fox 26 Houston and Fox Soul’s “Isiah Factor Uncensored.”

Likewise, Paul Masson fans believe the brand is the champion of brandy.

According to the press release, “Paul Masson Grande Amber Brandy is crafted with over 100 years of knowledge to provide versatility and a superior taste to experience. From the aging process to the care in selecting only the finest grapes, Grande Amber upholds the illustrious heritage of Paul Masson.”

As Wall would say, “Alllready baby!”
