Black-on-Black Crime Does Not Exist

Let’s Retire the Term Black-on-Black Crime

Black people are not at war with other Black people.

Black people do not undervalue the lives of Black people anymore than any other race devalues the lives of people of their ethnic group.

Black-on-Black crime is make believe to justify hate crimes committed against Black people.

Since the formation of the Black Lives Matter Movement, critics like former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani have cited statistics stating that Black people kill Black people more than other races or the police do.

While he is right in that assessment, his assessment is totally out of context.

All races kill themselves more than any other race, and the statistics are very similar for Blacks, Whites and Hispanics.

According to the Huffington Post based on statistics from the U.S. Department of Justice, “84 percent of White people killed every year are killed by other Whites.  In 2011, there were more cases of Whites killing Whites than there were of Blacks killing Blacks.  Between 1980 to 2008, a majority (53.3 percent) of gang related murders were committed by White people, with a majority of the homicide victims being White as well.”

This phenomenon is not because of self-hatred within the races.

The phenomenon is a geographical and social one, not a psychological one.

Whenever someone is a victim of a crime, investigators usually start from the inside and work their way out.

They usually start with a disgruntled spouse, relative, friend or co-worker.

This tactic is really a common sense tactic because many people kill someone they have beef with.

Many people have beef with someone they have a relationship with or are always around.

And unfortunately, American society is still very self-segregated because of race, and many people socialize with people that look like them and come from the same background.

Blacks often congregate with Blacks.

Whites often congregate with Whites.

And Hispanics often congregate with other Hispanics.

Likewise, many people congregate with people from the same socioeconomic and educational background as themselves.

Therefore, if beef escalates into violence, that violence is often perpetuated on someone that looks, talks, and lives like us.

Many killers are not serial killers or terrorists going around randomly killing people.

People usually kill people they are not getting along with.

Therefore, Black-on-Black crime will always be high.

But mainstream media forgets to report that White-on-White crime and Hispanic-on-Hispanic crime are relatively in the same ballpark percentage-wise.

Crime is often higher in low economic areas as well, and unfortunately the wage gap between Blacks and other races is still very significant because of a lot of factors like sub-par educational institutions and discrimination.

Furthermore, critics who say that Blacks should not complain about police brutality because of the prevalence of Black-on-Black crime is the equivalent of saying America should not worry about ISIS killing Americans because many Americans are killed by other Americans.
