2016 Has Been Year of Loss for Black Hollywood

In Memoriam

The year 2016 has been the worst when it comes to losing celebrities and public figures.

Some of the most iconic entertainers and public figures transitioned in 2016 and their shoes will be hard to fill.

On Wednesday, actor Tommy Ford of “Martin” fame passed away from an aneurysm in his abdomen.

However, fans will never forget their legacies.

Therefore, would like to give some of our favorites from Hollywood one last shout out until we see them again.

Muhammad Ali—three time heavyweight boxing champion, Olympic gold medalist

Prince—musical genius, singer, actor, Grammy and Academy Award winner

John Saunders—sports journalist at ESPN

Maurice White—founder and lead singer of Earth, Wind and Fire

Tommy Ford—actor best known for roles on sitcom “Martin” and movie “Harlem Nights”

Kashif—singer, producer and musician

Vanity—singer, actress and model

Phife Dawg—rapper, member of group A Tribe Called Quest

Billy Paul—singer, the voice behind the iconic song, “Me and Mrs. Jones”

Natalie Cole—Grammy Award winning singer

Afeni Shakur—member of Black Panther Party, mother of rapper/actor Tupac Shakur

Kimbo Slice—street fighter, MMA fighter, boxer

Prince Be—singer/rapper, member of R&B group P.M. Dawn

Shawty Lo—rapper, member of D4L


Bill Nunn—actor best known for his work with Spike Lee and “New Jack City”
