Regal Magazine Publisher, Todd A. Smith

Award-winning freelance writer, Todd A. Smith, founded Regal Magazine in November 2006.  Smith became a published writer while attending Eisenhower High School in Houston, Texas.  He began writing professionally in 2000, working for such publications as The Kappa Alpha Psi Journal, YL Magazine, African American News and Issues, and Houston Forward Times.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Southern University in 2001, and a Master of Arts degree in Communications (Journalism) from Texas Southern University in 2008.  Smith is one of those rare publishers, who is just as interested in inspiring readers as he is making a few dollars.  The goal of Regal Magazine is to inspire African American men to achieve their goals, despite the obstacles, and to be a vehicle for Black men to discuss social and political issues that are affecting them.  Smith is a member of National Association of Black Journalists, Houston Association of Black Journalists, American Advertising Federation and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.  In 2010, Smith became an adjunct journalism professor at Texas Southern University.  He is also a member of The Church Without Walls in Houston.
